Little Krishna – One in all of us!

Janmastmi – the birth of Bhagwan Shri Krishna is celebrated with a lot of pomp in our culture. It is a main festival at Trimandir and is celebrated with a lot of spectacle and special bhakti programs. By engaging in these celebrations the world remembers the unparalleled deeds of Bhagwan; the eighth Vasudev of the current cycle. His deeds were so great that even Bhagwan Mahavir paid respect to him.

Many devotees of Shri Krishna adore his childhood as a butter thief (Makhan Chor). Some remember him as Gopala – who mingled with Gopis and others remember him for his heroics as a Vasudev bhagwan and originator of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita. He was a mystery in his times as well as now.

But who really was he? It is beyond the capacity of ordinary people and ascetics to truly comprehend who Bhagwan Shri Krisnha really was. Only a Gyani like Dada who has reached the highest state of Atma Gyan can do that. Dada demystified who Bhagwan Krishna was. Further, Dada also truly explains the real message in Bhagavad Gita.

Dada said – “In spite to doing unparalleled deeds, he remained non doer of all of those”. “What Bhagwan refers to as “I” in Bhagwad Gita is his pure self.”

Param Pujya Dadashri says that, of all his forms only the form of “Yogeshwar Bhagwan” can help reach the highest state of final liberation. “Lord Krishna was a manifested God living in continuous awareness and an exalted Self-realized stage.”

It is out of this consciousness, Bhagwan Krishna advised Arjun to carry out the Karmic destiny of war while being aware of Atma in everyone, and be free from his past Karmas.

Our centres in North America also celebrate the Janmastmi with Bhakti programs, and enactment of Makhan Chor Krishna for the kids. It is so entertaining to see kids playing role of Krishna and becoming one with him. Decorations, Anna Koot, “Matki break” etc. mark the celebration of Janmastmi in our centers.

May Bhagwan Krishna give his blessings to all mahatmas to reach the final goal of achieving our real self and be one with him.
